The big GDPR (Data Protection) changes

From the 25th May 2018, the data protection act is getting a make over. GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) has one purpose, to strengthen and unify data protection for individuals within the European Union (EU), whilst addressing the export of personal data outside the EU. The primary objective of the GDPR is to give citizens back control of their personal data. Once GDPR takes effect it will harmonize previous and other data protection regulations throughout the EU.

All businesses within the UK need to comply with this new law no matter what their size or trade. Wattech have always taken the storage and security of our clients information very seriously and GDPR helps us further. As we don't send out marketing emails not much will change especially from what our clients see as most however there are still some important changes.

You can find out more on our GDPR & Data Protection policy by going to our data protection page at www.wattech-av.co.uk/gdpr
