Certain integrated heat pump tumble dryers manufactured by Haier—sold under multiple well-known brands—may suffer from an internal fault that can cause the appliance to ignite during normal use.

Affected brands include:

• Baumatic

• Candy

• Caple

• Haier

• Hoover

• Lamona

• Iberna

• Montpellier

🚫 Stop using your dryer immediately

If you own one of these models, you should:

• Switch off and unplug the appliance if the plug is accessible.

• Check your model and serial number using the manufacturer’s online safety checker.

• Contact the manufacturer directly to arrange a free repair.

The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) has confirmed that Haier’s initial repair programme was halted earlier this year after concerns the fix was unsafe. A revised modification has now been approved, and Haier has resumed contacting customers to arrange urgent repairs.
